Director and Founder
As a licensed paralegal, Bruce represents individuals, trade unions, and associations in the area of workers’ compensation law all across Ontario. Bruce has developed a special interest in Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims representation and has extensive experience with appearing before the WSIB Appeals Services Division and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT).
Before Bruce began representing injured workers, he was an injured worker that went through the WSIB system and appeals and understands injured workers’ plight with navigating the WSIB system. Because of his personal experiences of dealing with WSIB, Bruce is passionate for helping injured workers get what they are entitled to receive and with a determined and empathetic approach, Bruce has a proven track record of achieving results on behalf of his clients.
Angelina Bynoe Cheong
Paralegal Candidate
As a dedicated third-year paralegal student in the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program at Humber Polytechnic, Angelina is committed to pursuing a meaningful and impactful career within Ontario's legal system. Prior to pursuing her degree studies, she successfully completed a diploma in the Law Clerk program at Humber, equipping her with a strong foundation in legal procedures, document preparation, and court practices.
With a deep passion for law, justice, and public service, Angelina strives to contribute to a legal system that is fair, accessible, and equitable for all. Her academic focus includes administrative law, small claims court procedures, and tribunal practices, reflecting her interest in advocating for individuals navigating complex legal processes. As a member of the Humber Legal Association, she continues to deepen her legal knowledge and professional skills through active engagement with the legal community. Motivated by a belief in equal access to justice, Angelina looks forward to advancing her career and serving the public with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
Madeleine Hackborn
Paralegal Graduate Student
Madeleine is a Paralegal graduate student at Humber Polytechnic with a strong commitment to advocating for workers’ rights. She is currently an elected shop steward with CUPE Local 1281, where she represents employees in workplace disputes, enforces the collective agreement, and advocates for improved working conditions.
Madeleine has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media, with a minor in Philosophy, from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). During this time, she was a member of the Toronto Metropolitan Student Union (TMSU). Her academic and union experience has equipped her with strong skills in dispute resolution, negotiation, and contract interpretation.
In addition to her advocacy work, Madeleine is skilled in litigation support tasks, including conducting research, meeting strict deadlines, and drafting clear, well-structured documentation. Madeleine is dedicated to increasing access to justice through community-oriented legal work.
